Twenty-eight years at the cutting table. Every garment drafted from scratch on paper, basted, fitted three times, and finished entirely by hand.

Wool · Mohair · Linen
First apprenticeship
Enters a Damascus workshop at fifteen, sweeping floors and sewing linings.
Master cutter
Promoted to head cutter — drafting patterns for the house's clients.
Own atelier
Opens a two-bench workshop with a single Singer and one apprentice.
Dubai
Moves the atelier to Al Fahidi, keeping the same bench and the same shears.
Third generation
Trains two apprentices in full canvas construction.
Born in Damascus into a family of tailors, Ahmad learned to thread a needle before he learned to write his name.
He served nine years as an apprentice in the old souk workshops, where a jacket was judged by how it moved, not how it looked on a hanger. In 2006 he opened his own atelier and has cut every pattern in it himself since.
No fusing, no shortcuts, no outsourced work. Canvas is stitched by hand, buttonholes are cut open with a blade, and the shoulder is shaped over the iron until it sits without a wrinkle.

Final measurements are always taken in the atelier — but these five let us quote accurately over the phone. Stand relaxed, wear a thin shirt, and keep the tape level.
Tip: have someone else hold the tape. Measuring your own back never ends well.
Prices are starting points and depend on the cloth you choose. Nothing is added later — the quote you receive at the first fitting is the price you pay.

I had worn made-to-measure for years and thought I knew what fit meant. The first time I put on Ahmad's jacket I understood I had been wearing a costume.
